What are you pushing for whp on race day? This thread is awesome to follow, I love hearing all the mods you've made to the Yaris, keep at it.

Might as well freshen up the clutch while the car is apart. New OS Giken floating clutch disk and pressure ring.

Cant believe how quick we went from parts to complete short block.

In qual for the Saturday race Bestwick got caught up in some oil from a blown up American Sedan Camaro, and found the tire wall in Turn 12. Toyota lined up a loaner car from a local dealer so we could make repairs, but we elected to call it with one win in the books and headed home. Sadly this meant I also missed the July 4th Majors race a few weeks later, but since I was already qualified for the Runoffs it did not matter.

We had to replace the hood, drivers fender, door, lights and bumper. We were able to get most of the parts from a 2014 prototype. We actually rebuilt the car as a 2014 so we could take Bestwick out testing.

Just picked up the 2015 bodywork yesterday, and we will be putting that on for the Runoffs at Daytona. I like the 2014 nose better.

We have also been working on a new engine for Daytona, fingers crossed its ready in time.

Just had the spare trans checked out, and the OS Giken LSD adjusted with a little hotter setup. The off the shelf setup has been pretty good, but they said they can dial in a touch more lock up since we are running such a sticky tire.

I really like your trailer. Seems light but plenty strong to pull the car????

If ever you have better pics of it and don't mind sharing, would be much appreciated.

Cheers
John

That is beyond my pay grade. I sent out a stock short block with a set of CP-Carrillo rods and pistons, and got a finished piece back, what happened in between I do not know.

That trailer is only used for shorter tows, for out of state I use a bigger one. Weighs 830lbs. Only downside is no brakes.

Yeah no brakes is a no go here. I'm gonna be making a trailer this winter in my shop, mind as well make one with some room for tools, etc...

Thanks for the info. ;)

The last ten days have been a blur, and a nightmare, but the car is done and on its way to Daytona for the Runoffs.

Cool! A few local club members will be working flags & communications there. Good luck!
