Make sure you're using the proper red coolant.

And make sure your heater controls aren't broken. If the cable came off it could be stuck at full heat.

I've never really noticed heat coming inside the cabin, except when driving at full throttle on the autobahn. I'm not sure, but i think the headers of every single engine available for the Yaris are facing towards the cars firewall. So the headers could cause your cabin to heat up quite a lot. So maybe a exhaust heat wrap can cope with that.

But if you are not driving at full throttle and heat still comes inside your cabin, that would mean that most likely something is wrong with your cooling system.

DEI also makes a product called Reflect-A-Gold that is adhesive 18k gold you can stick to your firewall and cover your ECU. awesome product for blocking radiant heat. also hood vents remove heat as well.

Could be hot water valve to your heater core letting water circulate, valve not closed all the way, or a bad valve, I've had heater valves that were closed but would still let water through. Touch your heater hoses at the firewall, if both hoses are hot, it's the heater valve.

I thought there is always coolant flow to the hear exchanger, it is just the air flowbtjat changes to include or exclude the hear or cold outside air?
