There are a couple of good HD radios at Crutchfield.com. I have a pioneer, but it and the Kenwood was the most popular apparently have been replaced by new models. Check HDradio.com for stations in your area. HD is not as strong a signal as regular FM. I really enjoy it as it adds some jazz stations and blues, classical that are not available normally! Also consider you will have to get a dash kit to use a single din radio in a double din dash. So the kit and harness come with it there.....

The Scion T1808 deck puts out 160w stock and has a connector plug to attach an iPod cable to the back. It's good, shows the song titles and all, unlike the cheesy "aux" jack which plugs into the headphones receptical...
I paid $109 for a new car pull out radio and $29 for the ipod cable (both from Ebay) with the special connector for plug and play to the Scion radio. It's a cheap setup that fits right into the yaris, no adapters needed!

to you mentioning speakers - i wouldnt even go down that route with $300 hence itd be kind of pointless without an amp. you could suffice with stock speakers as long as the head unit puts out enough wattage/has a good sound processor. Edit :: In Dha Single Din Department - a quick search ive found JVC KD-HDR60 - $98 DUAL XHD7720 - $103 (can add bluetooth for 20 bucks) Pioneer DEH-P5200HD - $100 * *Personally I'd choose the Pioneer for my single-din setup - having been a previous Pioneer Yaris Owner. The thing just sounded amazing with about $200 left - you actually could buy a great set of speakers and amp or a nice sub and/or amp. if you prefer a Double Din Unit though (if Nav tickles your fancy) Youd probably be in the ~200+ range. ANd i havent seen to many Double Dins that include HD Radio as well. Last edited by RawrDaddy; 03-06-2011 at 08:41 PM. |

I'm used to the orange and don't really notice it anymore. It's was the cheapest way for me to go OEM plug 'n play with decent power. It's also less attractive to THEIVES.....

You need to order all the install bits a la carte on sonicelectronix.com vs. it's all included with a Crutchfield purchase.
Seems it all comes out the same pricewise in the end when it's all added up....

Apline Type R system
I recently just put Alpine R type 6.5's and 6x9's in my 07 yaris sedan... I had to do some serious creative shit to fit the front speakers (thanks to the damn window) and my 6x9's were a pain to put in because there was NO space between the rear window and the car. But, I got them in...and with a 10inch JL sub in the back..... i'm LAUGHIN! My system sounds hella clean, and very minimal rattle (due to the license plate cover). And I topped it off with an Alpine head unit. No complaints whatsoever.
