Transmission fluid change for 2018 Yaris hatchback

I lost my maintenance schedule for my 2018 Yaris Hatchback. When should the first automatic transmission change take place? Is it 100,000 miles or sooner?

There isn’t a requirement to change it. And if you just drop the pan and clean or replace the filter you’re leaving about 6 to 8 quarts of old oil in the transmission. You’re only “changing“ two quarts.

If you want to “Change” it you can do it whenever you fancy.

FWIW, automatic fluid only needs to be changed under 2 specific reasons, and this is true of ALL make model and brand
#1 the color has changed(darker with a smell)
#2 its been contaminated

in reality the only way to trash the fluid and make it need to be changed is 1. your pulling a trailer or hauling heavy, 2. you do a TON of hills.....either case you should have installed a cooler to prevent it..as its HEAT that kills a transmission, and said heat kills the fluid, but the damage of the heat is done to the trans FIRST and the fluid secondly...so if your fluids going dark..youve allready done trans damage

secondary FWIW, the ONLY way i know to fully change the fluid on an automatic..again regardless of make/model/brand/year if to open the output line to the radiator mounted cooler and connect a catch..keep in mind some high pressures at work here....and then put the transmission in neutral and start the engine, and let it idle till little to none comes out then promptly shut it down
