Lower Seat Height?

I've searched the forums extensively for a way to lower the height of the stock Yaris driver's seat. The only answer I kept coming up with was installing an aftermarket Recaro seat or something similar. I'm only slightly more than 6' tall, but I feel like I'm sitting really high in the car. Is there any way to lower the height of the seat without buying a new seat altogether? New seat brackets maybe? I looked at the bracket from Wedge Engineering, but I'm not sure if it would work with the stock seat.

P.S. Yes, the stock height adjustment is at its lowest setting.

I didn't even know that the stock seat had a height adjustment to it!?!?

What I did notice (only after searching the car and then reading the manual), is that the jackstand is tucked under the driver's set (not that it would be all that hard to relocate to the cargo area)......

Yeah, I didn't realize it at first either. I read about it in the manual and was excited to try it out. Lo and behold the seat was already in its lowest position .

DevilGirl, I should probably clarify that only the sedans got height-adjustable seats. It sucks, I know.

As for new seat brackets, email certain manufacturers directly. They'll most likely answer the questions you have.

Good luck!

Oh pooh!!! Oh well. I actually like having my seat the height that it's at. I never did like sitting as low as I did in my prior sedans. Particularly after I got used to driving a 95 Grand Chereokee for awhile. Makes it easier to get in out of the vehicle, at least IMHO. Then again, I was raised around trucks and SUV's.

I'm just going to post here so I get emails in case some one comes up with a solution. I know I could stand to go down about 4 inches, but I would settle for just about anything noticeably lower if someone can come up with something. I'm 6'3" and I still have plenty of headroom, but I feel too high, and reclining the seat helps that, but then I can't comfortably hang my arm out the window since it is so far forward after reclining.

Seriously, I almost feel like I'm not driving the car, I'm just kind of sitting on top of it going along for the ride. FWIW this thread (http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...ghlight=sparco) is pretty informative. Especially the 3rd post down. I'm not sure if anyone has tried either option, though.

Put some DF210s on it, that'll lower your sitting position!

Steering Wheel or Driver Seat Options for 2009 Yaris?

I have a new 2009 automatic transmission Yaris Hatchback.

But I have one BIG problem. I'm 5'11 tall, and if I get the seat comfortable so that I have plenty of leg room, I can't comfortably reach the steering wheel. If I get the seat closer to where I can reach the steering wheel, my knees are up to the steering wheel and in my keys!

Is there a way to replace the steering wheel to make it longer and lower when I'm at a comfortable position in the seat? This is only my second car and I have no idea what is possible in this situation.

Any info in appreciated.

I am quite sure that Wedge can make a lowered bracket for the stock Yaris seat. I have my stock seats; maybe I can take them down there and see about a deal (aka "Group Buy") for several sets of lowered brackets?

What say you?

Oh no, you didn't say that! I cringe when I see people driving along carelessly dangling their arms out the window. I can't believe anyone would do that. Good way to go home with a nub.

Woah, I'd definitely be interested in that, provided it's not like $200 each

Put me down for one!!! I'm 6'4 and would pay $100 AT LEAST to sit a couple inches lower just on the drivers side!!! Would the sedan height adjustable drivers seat fit in the HB??? There is a sedan at the junkyard here...

I am in on a group buy. It feels like im driving my moms minivan thats how high i feel sitting up. I know that putting spacers and tilting the seat helped a little bit. Espcially with legroom but id much rather have the seat even lower.
