Camera wiring

Would anyone happen to know which wire to tap into for ignition on to wire up a camera? All the posts i've seen on here talk about tapping into the backup light power.

no. why back up lights? they are only on when you back up. i would tap into the rear wiper circuit or the cig power port. both have 15a circuits. or the acc. circuit. it is at 7.5a

Reversing camera or Dash camera?

Taking power from the reverse lights is a simple method to pwer a reversiong camera, as you only want it to turn on when reverse gear is selected. For a dash camera, you wa t pwer whenever the engine is running.
