That's right, good example a ford mustang GT, what a waste of metal, a Nissan 370Z has more power and is a v6

Guys ... where does Toyota make the normal Yarii that come to the US.
We have a factory in Europe, France where they make the normal Yaris. The TS is only made in Japan so I guess that's why they don't sell it in the US. And believe me ... you are not missing out on anything spectacular. With the money difference you can pimp out a 1.5 Yaris, and make it look 10 time better than the TS. The only great things about the TS are the monster brakes and the indicators. I am really sad ... I can only do so little to it.

we got crappy yaris... but thats not true whatsoever.. we usually get way better cars than japan... Usually their top contenders end up being more powerful overhere... or on paper atleast... Europe is the one that gets everything bangin fast

Not really dude. We don't get the real US muscle. Cadillac sells only the CTS here. The rest ... are personal imports ... and that's expensive.

it'd be easier/more reliable to do a full swap.
the second you take a motor apart you've just reduced the reliability, so be prepared to do it again. |

off of wikipedia: [2ZR-FE] Output for this engine is rated at 132 hp (98 kW) at 6000 rpm and 128 lb·ft (174 N·m) of torque at 4400 rpm for the Corolla, Matrix, and Vibe and 128 hp and 126 lb ft of torque in the Scion xD.
why is the xD lower rated? i also wonder how much heavier this engine is... |

i'd guarantee the output is identical between xD and corolla/matrix. engine should weigh no more than 30lbs heavier.

That makes sense. I thought there was a 280 hp limit on cars though.

i thought it was a liter displacement issue in japan, none over 2 liters for passenger cars...
but look at the sr20det engine, that was a phenomenal engine with just 2 liters displacement. out the door on the Silvia it was 217 hp at only 7 psi. too bad that kind of engineering does not usually make it across the pacific... |
