How long can I coast in gear (MT)?
I've got a 2012 MT Yaris. I coast a lot in gear to take advantage of the DFCO. How low can I let the RPMs get while coasting in gear without damaging something? If I'm coasting up to a red light, for example, I'll leave it in gear until about 1,000rpm or so before putting it into neutral for the rest of the distance to the red light.
Any thoughts are much appreciated. Thanks. |

DFCO is only in effect above ~1100 RPM. Below that, fuel is once again being fed.
