Longer wheel studs for 5mm spacer?

Thinking about getting some 5mm wheel spacers all around, just curious what the consensus around here is regarding longer wheel studs being necessary or not with a 5mm spacer. I take corners hard as hell and wouldn't want a wheel coming off, lol.

I'm also assuming that for something as small as 5mm any cheap amazon or ebay pair would do the trick (obviously if I was going bigger I'd get something from a good company).

Thoughts?

up to ~5-7 should be fine

measure the opening of the lug nut and measure about how deep the stud is threading into the lug nut, if these numbers are pretty close then you're fine.

Do a google search and youll see a lot of similar consensus. I ran 3mm without issue

Cool, I found some decent looking 5mm spacers with the correct 54.1mm hub on eBay for $26

I put 5mm spacers on front and rear so that the front wheels would clear the brake calipers, and installed longer studs just to play it safe. Micro Image sells nice sets of them.

A rule of thumb for minimum thread engagement should at least equal the width of the bolt/stud. So for a 12mm x 1.5 stud, use at least 8 turns of rotation. Tire Rack recommends 6.5 at minimum, but I always err on the side of safety.

I have 5mm spacers all around, and I wouldn't get anything thicker without getting longer studs. I think my lug nuts only catch about 3 threads of the studs. I check the torque on them about once a week due to this.
