Yaris 1KR-FE engine problems - Toyota Yaris Forums

Hi,

I own a 2006 model year Yaris with a 1KR-FE engine. The car has approximately 200 000 km. Chain is the original one. I have done oil change every year between every 10 000 km.

Engine shakes quite a lot. I did try to clean throttle body and it didn't make any difference. After that clean up I've faced a problem that rpm of the car starts to bounce sometimes when the car is idling. For example if I rev the engine the rmp might bounce slightly and the idle itself is quite rough.

Are you getting a check engine code? If not, is it time for spark plugs or even an ignition coil? Check for a broken vacuum hose as well. Also clean the MAS....it probably needs it anyhow.
