Decided to try out some bumper reflectors on my 2015 SE

I decided to take a day off today to finish up my taxes and do some miscellaneous stuff around the house. One of the things that I did was add some rear bumper reflectors to my 2015 - to see how it looked, and how well they might hold up to the harsh weather out here in sunstroke Arizona (assuming that I decide to keep them on the car).

In case you are wondering how some reflectors would look on the 2015 bumper/rear design, here are some pics of my dust/pollen covered car.

Looks a hell of a lot better than my salt/grime covered car!

Reflectors look decent.

I like the look of the reflectors. However your wheel gap is a different story ;) ...damn the Yaris should have came lowered from factory

I've thought about lowering the car about an 1" and perhaps adding some 10mm rear hub spacers (such as the Penguin type if I can still find them anywhere) to bring the wheels out a bit in the rear. Do the TRD lowering springs fit the 2015 as seamlessly as they do the 2007-2011?

Looks pretty good, although I probably would have added them to the black bumper valance. Did you cut them to that shape? They look very precisely shaped.

I think they look... outstanding! And, I like the shape and exactly where you have placed them. They seem to make the rear end look a bit wider. Perfect job!

I like the rebadge to VITZ RS... and your licence plate, too. Your car looks great!

I'm glad you posted some better pics of your car and those reflectors are subtle and that's a good thing.

Nice driveway -- Yes, I notice these things as the garage is the most important room in the house

Yea, your stance looks really high -- not sure if mine is the same -- will look later.

Makes me want to sell the house and move out to eastern AZ

I think it interferes with the nice white bumper and looks a little "fake".
I'd prefer something more subtle. Maybe something like this:
I don't know if the black portion is textured or not, but that would be where I'd place it.

I somewhat agree with the "fake" comment. I would have preferred to put something in the black insert area also (as in your altered pic), but the surface is textured (+ curved/angled), and I doubt it would bond well with typical adhesive backings. I still haven't decided if I will keep the ones that I have on there now or not, but they will stay on at least until my next car-cleaning day comes around.

They came pre-cut from the place that I ordered them from ($13). I figured it was a small price to pay to see if I liked them on the car or not. As noted in my previous post, I would have preferred to add them to the black bumper valance, but the surface there is textured (+curved/angled) and not likely to accept many adhesive backings - at least not the type on these particular reflectors.

I didn't notice until this thread that it sits a little too high ...

Yes, lowering ~1" would improve the stance/ appearance of our cars

Yeah, I think I am going to order the OEM TRD springs for the Yaris (Toyota Part # PTR11-52070), since they only drop the car about 1" in front and 1.3" in the rear. From what I understand, even though Toyota doesn't list them for fitment with the 2012+, they still fit perfectly since the core mechanics are virtually unchanged between 2007 and 2016 models. Same with the TRD rear sway bar, which I will probably order at the same time.
