Install sedan integrated stereo in hatchback?
I've never been in a hatchback, and I've only seen a few pictures of what the center console/dash is like. Would it be possible to take the OE "integrated" stereo from a sedan with the power package and use it to replace the OE stereo in the hatchback?
The integrated stereo still has the molded bezel intact & attached, so if the space and mounting points above the heater controls is the same I'm hoping it might work. |

Not sure.
Pics grabbed from other threads that make it look like a no. Regular sedan: PP sedan: Hatch: http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...89&postcount=3 http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...9&postcount=56 Last edited by ceres; 11-15-2006 at 12:54 PM. |

that would be a NO. center consoles are completely different. plus, from what i've heard, the integrated stereo isnt all its cracked up to be.

Yeah, it's not all that great. When making mp3 CDs, random only works within a folder. The text is large and cuts off long song titles and doesn't scroll to show the entire thing The large screen is pretty much a waste as all it shows is the song playing (you can change it to show artist, song, album, file name etc but it stays on whatever you put it) and what each button is set to do. Would be nicer if it at least allowed you to scroll through songs w/o changing the song playing. If I ever have any spare money, I'll probably pick up the nonintegrated center piece and buy a new headunit. Planning on doing the speakers first as the bass is killing me even with it at -5.

go with a double din radio, will work nicely :). The dash, IMO, is perfectly setup for one of those double din 6.5" screens HU's.

Random does work for the whole MP3CD if you read the manual you just have to hold it down. You can scroll you just have to do it by pressing the button. But yeah it's the the most special stereo but looks a hell of a lot better than the other black one. I do want to get a DVD player but I am not sure I can justify the cost. |
