hey u guys i recently upgraded my intake to an injen intake and a week later my check engine light came on...i rechecked the gas top to make sure it was closed tightly and today i just ran the test on it with the OCB2 the code that popped up was P0101 and P0171....i double checked the hoses that connects to the intake to make sure it was tightened but the lights still on. anybody have any idea about whats going on??? i really dont want to take it to toyota if its something i could do it myself. Thanks for reading and you opinions/suggestions!

0101 is usually a vacuum leak of some sort or the MAF. Could be that the MAF is sitting too low or too high or is it possible that you put it back on during installation backwards? Did you clear the codes to see how long before it came back?

i looked online to see how to reset the check engine light but the online thing that mainly showed online was reseting the maintenance light. i also tried taking out the fuse but its still showing....i screwed on the maf in all the way but i havent tried rotating it...i'll turn it around tomorrow and well see if the lights still there. but how could the maf be either too high or too low?

it all depends on the mounting point on the intake piping. There was an issue with the AFE intake in regards this and it also came with spacers. As for resetting the code you can always disconnect the battery for 10-20 minutes.

the MAF has to be put in the right direction and it clicks in.
