Greddy or blitz

Hello

What is the differents about greddy or blitz supercharge!?

It's possible to put an intercooler and blow off with this kit?! I have tcheck for it but I think that is imposible and not useful.

There are good and bad points of each kit.

The Blitz is a Roots type design and makes an awesome sound.
This supercharger pulley is clutch driven and is has a switch for engagement at different throttle positions, or off. I never liked the feature myself though, and never saw gas mileage benifits of turning it off probably because of the restriction of the roots blades. The Roots blades are also made of a composite material I believe, which will withstand water methenol injection. The supercharger is driven by a longer than factory 4pk wide belt.

The Greddy supercharger kit is a screw type supercharger (Magnacore).
I like the fact it comes with an emanage. I like the fact that it is driven by a 6pk belt piggy backed off the alternator. I don't like the fact that the supercharger blades are teflon coated and have been known to delaminate if you ever choose to add water methanol injection.
I don't know if this kit would fit the Yaris, as the supercharger unit is larger and modification may be required to the hood and core support.

Well there has been documented cases (via Microimage online) that a Yaris had been modified with a Greddy kit. Thats where the whole thing stops, pics of the Yaris, and thats about it. Sure enough to say it probably was modified in a similar fashion to Morgan's to fit properly.

take off the top, its not a screw type. The air is compressed entering from the top, if it was a screw type it would HAVE to enter through the side of the compressor to even function, such as a whipple or eaton.
The air enters the side of a screw type (Greddy) and top of a Roots type. One thing about me, is I won't post up something I don't know about. Just a heads up.

an intercooler set-up is not possible because the supercharger mates right onto the included intake manifold. Water methanol injection is a good way to cool and densify the charge.

as far as a bov, the Blitz kit has not use of one because when you let off the gas pedal the clutch pulley disengages preventing boost off throttle.

The Greddy kit has a bypass valve which releases pressure in the same situation (has fixed pulley).

so you're saying BLITZ themselves dont' know what they're selling?

and by the way, the greddy unit is an Eaton MP45 which is still considered a roots style.

jeeze man... 20 seconds on google and i proved you wrong.

roots:

twin screw:

don't they both have air entering at the "top" and leaving at the "bottom"?

The Blitz unit, from the shape and configuration, looks like the second type.

Garm can verify this by taking a peak if he has any of blitz compressors in stock, and take a pic if he would be so kind to post that as well.
I'll do this on Monday.
