Driving the 2011 North American Ford Fiesta
I was in San Francisco for the launch of the 2011 Ford Fiesta. We did a bunch of twisty back-road driving; an autocross; and an avoidance maneuver exercise. We even got to drive it back to back against a Honda Fit Sport and ... a Yaris five door! The Yaris was an auto on the skinny 185/60/15 tires, so of the three cars, it had the least grip. I'm very impressed by the Fiesta; it's a heck of a subcompact. Yeah, there are some things I don't love, but overall, this should be a home run for Ford. http://www.subcompactculture.com/201...rd-fiesta.html

I love it!
I have been looking into them (for a friend, I'm not giving up my Yari!) and they are listed on Ford's website starting at $13,320 for the Sedan, and $15,120 for the HB. A bit too rich for my blood since the one that I created and priced was $19,045 (I like my cars loaded) .... but, I absolutely think they are adorable and I would buy one used when I could get a better deal on it. I am excited to see these on the street |

Fords have always been my favorates until I bought my first Toyota because at the time, ('01) Ford wasn't making any cars that I wanted and Toyota's reputation for quality.
Ford has come a long way since then both in quality and styling and really deserve a new look. |

I have always been a Ford fan, even though I make fun of them (Found On Road Dead ... lol that never gets old) but I really have always loved their cars. The Mustang is by far the most beautiful creation, in my opinion, as far as realistic cars for purchasing goes - and there is nothing hotter than a Ford Truck *drool*
I really appreciate the effort they have put in to their vehicle lines to appeal to the consumer and improve their sales. They are doing everything right, IMO :) |

I had a friend that said that a lot... he was in a brand new z71 4x4 at the time. I was in a 1981 F-150... I picked him up/towed him more times than I can imagine, and he didn't even off road. So at the end of the day I just stick with ODO numbers... If your car has more miles than mine we can argue, but if ur under 560,000 miles then zip it... lol and thats on a truck designed to last under 100k miles (at the time). |

I thought about waiting to try the new (for us) Fiesta, but in the end decided to overcome my normal procrastination mode and get something bought ASAP. Ford should have had this in the US market 4 years ago. Also, it looks a bit racy, and around here auto theft by joyriding kids is a big concern.
I wonder why the 1.6 liter fiesta has a higher MPG rating than the 1.5 liter Yaris? (38 vs 36) It would be interesting to know how MPG would compare IRL on my 45-55MPH rural roads, rather than the standard test setup. Zip 55104 = I was long blessed to inhabit 55110, 55127 and 55433. |
