Need your help installing Tein Basic coilovers for rear canot get spring seated
Hey all,
just recieved some Tein Basic Coilovers from Garm..Installed the front easily and got stuck on the rear..According to Tein directions it states that there is a thrust washer that sandwiches between the spring and height adjuster..My kit came with a rubber collar that the thrust washer sits on..Problem is when i use the rubber collar and thrust washer together I cannot get my spring to be fully seated..I have included a link below that shows the rubber washer sandwiched between the height adjuster and thrust washer for the rear.. Anyone have trouble getting their rear spring to get seated? http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5570

Did you lowered the perch? It will sit in when the car is lowered from jack stands, you have a picture how is looking right now

yes the rear perch is lowered to the max..When I installed the rubber collar and thrust washer together I couldn't get the bottom of the rear spring to be fully seated, so I am using just the thrust washer by itself..Will post up pics shortly

I'm going to ask if you have the rear shocks in and cinched up? If so try loosening those to allow for the axle to lower some more then attempt to install the rubber cushions with the metal thrust washer. Just a thought.

ok guys got it figured out..Called Tein and they have a revised top height adjuster that has a built in spring guide so no rubber bushing needed(you can see the part number on pg9 of the tein pdf) ..I was fortunate to work close to Tein and drove there to pick up the new adjusters, the tech came out and said it was extremely dangerous to drive without the bushing as the spring could basically pop out..now the spring sits perfectly..Will get some pics up tomorrow

Outstanding. However in looking at the page you indicate, I don't see anything as described as "top height adjuster". Would you please re-confirm the name of that piece according to the PDF. I for one am interested and would want to make sure a kit on the market contains it rather than buy the kit only to find out that it too is like yours. Thanks
