These MPG numbers are really getting impressive from GM. 38 MPG highway in a mid-size, almost full size car? Wow. They already have the class leading Cruze Eco at 42 MPG.
Our 35 MPG Yaris's are really starting to look insignificant. Weird since we were the leader up until this year as far as non-hybrids go. Nice evolution in styling too. |

I was actually thinking that it really looked like an old people's car.
But yeah, I'm really interested in what GM is doing now too. In a couple years when I'm ready to move on from the Yaris, I think the Cruze or the Spark are looking like serious contenders. Still waiting to see what the reliability info is like on the Cruze, but I like everything else about it. |

I'll wait another 5 years before deciding on GMs reliability on these new eco cars coming out....
Toyota def. needs to step up their game...bring some of the models in Japan over here to kill the MPGs from GM and Ford :) |

Finally gm is making nice fuel efficient cars that don't look like something my grandma would drive. I have to admit I'd take a malibu over a camry anyday toyotas line up is really looking stale even the new carolla looks fugly.

I like the looks but know too many people who have them.OK for the first couple of years and then the cels and electronic problems start........Not mechanical issues, electrical issues with the computers and such.

eww i think that is gross. I just wonder though how slow these cars are, what else can they do but manipulate the transmissions to test out at these numbers?

Using the Cruze Eco as an example, here's an excerpt from an article that talks about some of these changes... Quote:
