Interesting Vitz in Japan
Just saw this on cardomain...
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2591146 Under the hood looks weird! Anyone know if that is one of the 1.0 or 1.3 engines available there?

Our parallel imported Japanese made Vitz have engines that look like that (as opposed to Yaris sold through official channels with a 1.5 litre). However I have only ever seen the 1.3 litre engine, and have no idea if the 1 litre looks similar, but its pretty much the standard layout for a Vitz.

Who said Yaris was slow?
|
My brother has a 1.3L hatch and that engine doesn't looks like this one. Well at least the engine cover is different.
The 1.0L is not a 3 cylinder engine? |

Yes, the new 1.0l engine is a 3-cyl engine. And the 2sz-fe generally has a bit more of a cover on it, but this has more than likely been removed to allow for the air filter

I wish North America could get that engine! Unfortunately, most Canadians and Americans think power is more important than fuel economy.
Whenever I read a car review for a subcompact, the review often complains about a lack of power. My last car had 52 horsepower.(VW diesel) Sure, it was slow, but for a car made the year I was born it got the same mileage as my 2007 Yaris. (same displacement, 1.5 L) True, I have double the horsepower now, but I'd rather get better MPG and have less power. At the very least, I wish we had an engine choice. |
