Telescopic Steering Wheel?

I was adjusting the seat to lowest position and slightly back today on my Yaris and noticed the wheel move back slightly . Honestly, I was not expecting this on a basic car!
Is it only ignorant me or did you people know that this car has a Telescopic Steering Wheel?

It's probably yet another feature that's exclusive to foreign markets. Hey, they get everything else.

Mine tilts but does not extend. Would be nice to have though as I always felt the wheel was a bit of a stretch even for my long armed self.

I could not believe it either. Honestly, I was not expecting it at all and I have had it for almost two months now... Was just driving today and had a neck pain (wife?) so just wanted to change positions while driving so lowered the seat and wanted to see if tilting the wheel to a different position made a differnce.

I tilted it and felt it move in a bit. I was like NO WAY! Cause I always liked that feature and just had a feeling that there are more surprises to this car. So, here I found another one!

Just release the steering tilt lever and pull the wheel towards yourself.

Yup, we've got that feature. It's not standard though- the basic level only gets the tilt function, but next levels add the telescopic function. Just goes to show how far "basic" cars have come in some ten years.
