My Yaris so far
Finally decided to pot up the pics of where I'm at with my Yaris right now. When I bought the car a few years ago it was simply to get me from A to B and I swore I'd never change anything on the car. Hehehe that changed once I started to teach myself how to wrench a car and realized that I wanted to actually enjoy my commute and not just tolerate it.
Couple things I wanted to keep in mind when making mods: -Keep it classy (subjective, I know) -Keep it looking like a sport factory version of a Yaris or a euro inspired sport version whatever that it. Essentially I didn't ant it to look like t had a bunch of cheap mis fitting add ons (like fake vents, bullet hole stickers etc) -Keep it reliable to be able to get me to school and back every day -Still needs to be able to run in the winter and in snow -Keep the ride still DDable so not ridiculously jarring. Things I've done: MI lowering springs, Excel G front struts, Tokiko Blue's rear shocks, Painted trunk lip, Vitz and vvt-i rear emblems, plasti dipped white emblems and grill lip, blacked out rear chrome trunk bar, TRD side emblems, TRD white weighted shift knob, white dipped interior panels, modified seat for "sport" like feel, rear 10m hub spacers w/ camber shims, In cabin and under hood MI short shift kit, MI/Golden Eagle intake manifold, DC header, TRD short ram air intake, HID projectorswith LED halos, blacked out interior headlights, Sickspeed white dual horns (>100dB), Primary cat deleted custom 2.25" exhaust, oil catch can, MI lightweight crank pulley, Front stainless steel braided brake lines, TRD rear sway bar, 1zz Throttle body, front splitter, window vents, front camber bolts, black painted drums, calipers, Viper keyless entry, gas pedal shim for better response, painted engine bay Things added this month: Install my Mugen GP's 15x6.5 35 offset bronze color. Install triple gauges pod (oil temp, pressure and vacuum). Things I plan on doing in near future: Lightweight flywheel and stage 1 clutch, driver side bucket racing seat I plan on having this car as long as possible (hoping for a 20 year car) so I rust proof it every spring and always cover any paint chips I find. Currently run 0w30 Mobil1 oil on 10k km OCI, currently testing a 13k OCI after last UOA. I'll hopefully be doing a couple autox events this year for fun to have some fun. A lot of my km's are on the highway and mostly avoid traffic. I drive it hard (within it's limits) every few days when it's fully warmed up. I wax the car every months or so in the summer and mid way in the winter. Paint is looking pretty good so far. best part of this build is that my fiancee loves this car almost as much as me. She's not afraid to tell me what types of mods she hates ie: non function massive spoiler seen on a passing car or ridiculously loud exhaust on an otherwise stock looking car. Somehow I've manged to keep it within her "classy" range. The new wheels will change the look quite a bit with there much better fitment.

I like the blacked out trunk garnish and the trunk lip. I'm curious why you re-badged it with a Vitz emblem rather than the proper Belta or Vios emblem?

I went with the Vitz as I preferred the look of it over the Belta or Vios. not really any reason other than that. Plus it was also easily available at a decent price. There's quite a few Yaris' in my neighborhood so I enjoy having subtle differences between mine. My fiancee always laughs when we're walking up to my car and comments how it doesn't look like a Yaris but looks like a different model stock Toyota. She apparently thinks it looks quite a bit different than a stock Yari

I can understand wanting to personalize your car and make it unique.
Here is a photo of KaoticLasagna's car rebadged with the VIOS and TRD Sportivo emblems. It looks unique as well. |

Glad you shared this. I've been curious about what your car looked like for a while now. You don't have a garage with pics setup. Looking sharp! Looking forward to seeing it with the new shoes.

Still amazed that I have yet to see this car cruising around.
I'm with kimona, source out a Vios emblem. Vitz is just wrong.

Alright I think i'm missing something. What's th deal w/ the Vitz vs Vios or Belta tag? afaik I thought they were just different names for the Yaris I various areas of the world?
...I have a feeling the answer will make me sound pretty oblivious...

The Toyota Belta is a sedan also known as a Toyota Vios or Toyota Yaris sedan in export markets. The Toyota Vitz is a hatchback also known as a Yaris hatchback/liftback in export markets.
The Belta was designed at Toyota's Japanese design studios while the Vitz was designed at Toyota's European design studios. The cars are two completely different design projects sharing only frame and drivetrain options, as well as some components. Why Toyota chose to market the Belta and Vitz under the single Yaris name in some markets is a mystery. BTW: In Japan, the Belta was sold at Toyota's Corolla retail stores while the Vitz was/is sold at Toyota's Netz retail stores (which is the reason why the Vitz sports a Netz grille emblem rather than the Toyota grille emblem). Hehehe sh*****t, well hey I did say I was goin for unique didn't I?
Hmm I honestly still don't really mind as I find the sacrilegious use of it to be sort of more interesting. That said, Kimona found a dirt cheap Vios emblem so I may just grab that one...

^^^ Sometimes looks cool, but sometimes makes the car look like a repaint.

I agree, there's a few cars in my area that have done it and I find it looks "cheap" just the impression it tends to leave on me, not really sure why

I think it depends on the rest of the package. That also has to be done well. I just like the really clean look. High end manufacturers, like BMW, have offered no-badge options since way back.
