adjustable camber bolts?
hai gaiz, i tried to search for camber bolts, but didn't really get the answer i'm looking for, so i'm hoping you guys can help me:
i'm planning to lower my 2012 liftback on tein s-techs, but was wondering if camber bolts would be needed for a 2" drop on stock steelies and tires? i also plan on running 205/50/15 tires when i get rims... would i need camber bolts then? for a 2" drop, i shouldn't need negative camber, should i? |

You won't need camber bolts with that set up. -1 degrees or so really feels good though, improves handling and does not affect tire wear.
If you decide you want the bolts, I stock them: http://shop.microimageonline.com/Adj...olts-81270.htm And if you need help with your new wheels/tires when the time comes, I hope we can help you get those as well.

No you will not NEED the camber bolts but they help tuck your tires/wheels a little and improve handling as Garm has stated.
Yes you will need to cut them. Cut along the urethane bushing portion in the middle. |

Just as a heads up if you decide to take the car to check out the alignment after the drop beware that the shop will most likely try to talk you into something like shims or bolts that you don't need unless they are a pretty good shop. As Garm said, -1 to -1.2 degrees feels fine and really won't affect your tires.

The bump stops will cause tour atruts to bottom out and could lead to blown struts in the long run.

nice... I was about to search the forum, because I had the same question. Easiest search I have ever had. No camber bolts on the S techs. Can anyone attest to their durability? I don't want springs to sag. If there is a better option I am in.

^ The Teins are a relatively soft spring, designed mostly for drop/stance/looks, and less for performance. You definitely want to cut your bump stops with that spring so your struts/shocks don't bottom out.
I don't think we have many reports of the Teins sagging, but you will wear your struts and shocks out sooner (shorter travel due to a lowered car). When that happens, or sooner (recommended for a better driving experience!), I would suggest Tokico blues, an upgrade from the OEM struts/shocks. As for camber bolts, they won't affect the longevity of your springs, as they serve a different purpose.
