ok i dont know if this was answered what was the total cost of meterials i would like to do this and what if i didnt get the hids but wanted to paint the chrome black will that drasticly affect my visibilty and light out put of the headlights

I had this problem too and culprit it's at the controller (square size little black box) that comes with the wiring harnesses. While having the issue of slow respond on the Halo (left side only), it will slowly died off.

Just to make sure that Box was the culprit, you can switch between the two Box to see which ones are faulty. There's a connector on the bottom of the box so just unplug them, not the whole wiring. Hope this helps.

I haven't had any problems with my halos so far. The only thing I can suggest is to double check
and make sure there are no loose wires.

Atleast you didn't buy them , ship them half way around the world .
then unpack them & paint them ,then to find the cut off was wrong
That sucks , trust me .

How serious will it be if the cut-off was wrong? you get ticket just because of that?

Ticket + Ordered of the road total fines about $500.NZ
so it is not worth risking , but on the bright side , atleast
all i have to do is wait for the correct ones
