Yaris Hybrid

It looks good, but I don't think there's any way this will fit in the economy car pricing model. Just guessing, but I think this will be closer to 20k. Also, what do you need a backup camera in a Yaris for!?

Oooh... I want those nice flush rear taillights. The lights on mine stick out like boils. They look like they came off of an entirely different car and were just stuck on as an afterthought.

The Yaris Hybrid is what Europe is getting instead of the Prius C (aka Toyota Aqua in Japan). The drive train is identical to the Pruis C and the size is about the same.

Ah ok, that makes more sense. I thought this car looked like it was marketed more towards the Prius crowd than the econo-car market.

We also have a backup camera and it's a pretty usefull feature! In the future i'm going to trade my Yaris diesel for the hybrid. It has a good performance and it's comfortable if you put it against the eco diesels, for example the VW Polo blue(slow)motion. It will be much more reliable too than a Polo but that's not difficult |

But your diesel is so much better than a hybrid. Not to mention you probably get better gas mileage now too.

Gas mileage should be about the same. 3.5 - 3.8 ltrs per 100 km.
As my Toyota dealer says, the hybrid might be more reliable. - No starter - No alternator - No turbo - No diesel injectors / comman rail system - No clutch. According to reports the current hybrid cars (Prius and Auris) are very very reliable. Last edited by Volcano; 06-04-2012 at 04:26 PM. |

That isn't surprising, they are still Toyota's. Surprised the gas mileage is the same though, thought diesel's did better.

In reality my Yaris diesel uses 5 l/ 100 km and now it's 4.8 l/ 100 km.
I've seen a test with the Yaris hybrid here in the Netherlands and it was also 5 l/ 100 km. But road taxes are way higher for diesel as for petrol. Gas prices for diesel are lower than for petrol though but if that is for a long time i don't know. The hybrid has a cvt automatic gearbox wich i like more than the manual gearbox of my diesel. |

Hybrid for the Yaris is kinda cool...I'm more interested in those tail-lights. I wonder if they would fit my '12 Yaris.
