Stacking Tires

What is the best method for stacking tires, like a Donut on top of each other or vertically on a stand, two on top, two on the bottom ?

I have a second set for three of our cars. I do the vertical stack with a piece of cardboard between each to protect the rims.

^That makes sense. I used to store them upright and found that over a period of six months they would take a set and would take a couple days of driving to get them hot and spin them back into round.

Because the bottom ones get squished and out of shape. And because I say so.

Always kept them upright in sealed large garbage bags . Rotated every month due to heat and possible flat spots . Especially winter tires thanks to softer composition .
