That's great news. I can't wait to see some pictures of this unit.

How did you mount this 178mm unit in the 200m dash opening? Did you have to purchase a custom 178mm dash kit?

Hey all I like the review so far about this unit and have looked further into the ebay listings. My question is has anyone had any issuses with hooking up a Iphone 4 to the bluethooth? I know sometimes the Iphone has some problems with the bluetooth connecting. Thanks.

I take it you have to buy a double din dash kit unlike the other one that looks stock? I'm very interested in this one but also like the idea of it looking stock as well.

Well for my special case of an install x i didnt buy the double din kit.

It probably would help me properly secure my unit more, but it can effectively be mounted with the mount kit that comes with the unit and use the stock 200mm brackets.

to anwser toy's question - im still using the stock brackets. no special 200 to 170 conversion.

mine isnt exactly mounted with screws to the brackets
rather held in with the L-shaped mounts. so technically the unit could move around in the VERY back (...if you were to crash into something or have the car undergo a drastic action like a collision) but with normal driving - i have nothing to worry about.and the movements arent even enough to cause any loosening of the wires or maybe mess with the ground / cause some elctrical problem.

ill explain more / give details when i finally show the "final" pics / video review.
(i didnt have my Yaris for about a week or so - which is why theres been a delay. sorry)

but the Bluetooth has been workin great. so far my Samsung Mythic and iPhone 3G paired and worked marvelous. no complaints.

I do need to find a solution to get rid of the side gaps around the unit though. ( since it doesnt EXACTLY fill the same space as a stock unit )
and also just so everyone knows - the unit needs a little clearance for the screen to slide out when ejecting a CD / inserting a SD card
so the unit does stick out a little on my setup (as im also not using a D.Din kit)

besides for the looks within the Yaris - this unit is definitely GREAT and worth EVERY penny for 299. still no complaints.

for those who still want that 100% OEM look though - should try the other Chinese.Double Din thread.

I kind of advise against this one. Its basically the same as the million other "cheaper" made Chinese Units. You could find one like that with the same exact Specs for about ~$100.

I would spend the extra fortyish dollars and get one like my OP for about 299.

Those radios are actually rather old technology wise and def not the best bang for your buck.

Look at the Specs.

64MB of RAM? for something that could do so MANY different things?

99% of Cell Phones today have better Specs than that unit.

thats just one way to look at it.

Plus Win CE 5 / slow/sluggish GUIs like those can get rather irritating over time and usually struggle to hit the Satisfactory mark.

but hey.just my $.02.
