Ruba a dub dub in the rear

Well the 215/40 17's officially rub in the rear. The front is what I was worried about and the rear is what I should have been worriend about. Me and my dad were riding around in it yesterday and was hearing the back rub a little as we hit some bumps. When we got out we noticed that the fender in the rear sticks out more in the rear then in the front, but with me and my dad we probably had over 500 pounds in the front seat. Anyone who has a sedan go look and see what I mean. So I am thinking about rolling the fenders all the way around or getting 205's. Suggestions??????

Get the 205's... it'll save you a lot of trouble.... You'll probably be able to sell the 215's no prob...

Can you put 215's on the front and 205's on the back? Or would it drive funny. It would be cool to have more rubber on the front, where the power is... kinda like the FWD drag cars with slicks on the front.

You may want to try and sell them on other boards.. you might be able to either make some money, or regain what you put out.... the subby and evo guys are a decent bet... otherwise the scion guys might pick up off you quick too...

Chino - you'd have trouble with it if the heights are off... i don't think 215-40-17 and 205-40-17 will set level....

slvryaris you said that it rubs at the rear with 215's. I am running the same setup but in no ways what so ever am I getting any problems. What suspension setup are you running?

I am running the NF210, but I am not by any means a little guy. I had me and my dad in the front seat of the car at we are probably at a combined weight of over 500 pounds. I am sure that you wil be fine unless you have some big people you like to take around, but if its just you and a lady most of the time you wil be fine depending on how low you bring it down with springs. With the Austrilian 5 door hatch the inner fender lip might be different.

I would try rolling first... it should be very minor rolling. You will also benefit from the slightly taller diameter of the 215 tires since you didn't lower the car as much, they will help fill in the wheel gap .

As mentioned, I run 215/45/17 RT615's on 17x7 +38 wheels with the DF210's and with the hatch fully loaded:

6 spare wheels and tires = 120lbs
tools = 30lbs
jack = 20lbs
myself = 220lbs
passenger = 170lbs

total = 560lbs

and still no rubbing! It may be the difference in body lines between the LB and sedan? Also I did have rubbing up front at first, but I purchased the smallest diameter camber correction bolts from Toyota = 12.4mm and it's all good now I'm sitting at -1.2 deg front camber and it's much nicer than the stock -0.5!

hey 03Z33, where would one get those bolts? Got a link?
Might solve the tiny bit of rubbing I get too.

They are from Toyota. I'd search for the part numbers for you but I'm replying from my cell and can't get it to work. Just search my old posts, I've posted the part numbers a few times before.
