Lightbulb Yaris owner, car newb.

I've never been one for buying fancy things for my car, but since I am doing a hell of a lot of driving I decided I would like to eventually purchase new wheels for my car. What I am looking for is a more common wheel/tire size than the stock rims as those tires are kind of pricey. I also wouldn't mind having some lighter wheels. I assume an aluminum wheel would be best?

The wheels would be for a 2008 Yaris hatchback.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

185/60R15 and 195/60R15 are pretty much the cheapest out there being 15inches.

Else, you can go 175/65R14 or 185/65R14 which are cheaper than 15inches.

You'd need 14" rims if you want to get 14" tires.

With steel wheels theres about zero chance of them being stolen. With aluminum youre going to need one locking lug nut for each wheel. Lose the key and have a flat on a dark and rainy night and youre SCREWED!

Also if theres damage to them they are much more expensive to replace. If they even make that style anymore so you CAN replace them.

I haven't locked my wheels for the past 6 years. Nobody ever notice I don't have stock wheels.

You can install 195/60's on your stock wheels.

Here's a good place to start looking for new rubber:

Thanks guys for all the help. I have a little basic knowledge about other aspects of cars, but never learned much about wheels. I know aluminum is a lighter metal and generally gives better MPG because of the weight reduction. Are the stock rims worth keeping?
