VIS Carbon Fiber Hood
Here it is guys. It's the VIS Racing Carbon Fiber hood. I went in as a test fitment person, to see if it would fit the sedans. I guess you I can be considered as a guinea pig for the hood. I had no intention of purchasing it, but it grew on me. So I ended up keeping it.

Since I was a test fitter, they offered me a discount.

looks quite nice!
I don't suppose you guys put both hoods on a scale to compare weight?

Sorry eTiMago, no we didn't put them on the scale. I could tell the difference after I had to take out my original hood out of my trunk ...heavy sucker! An then just lifting CF hood now is a piece of cake. Maybe the Liftback person that's supposed to go for a test fit can ask if they'll compare them.

Reddglare, what kind of cloth do you use for an outer skin? It kinda looks like a biax, rather than the "typical" 2x2 twill.

Thanks for taking the time to do the test fit. Seems like it fits real good. I never knew the hood was so small. I remember checking out the Yaris when it first came out, but that was a while back.
Are you planning on keeping the hood in it's original form, or are you gonna paint it to match your car color? Just wondering. |
