A/C PROBLEM

Hi guys I buyed a yaris HB 2008 last week with 29000 miles on it, I noticed that after driving like 30 to 40 minutes the a/c stops blowing cold air and blow cool air. I have to turn it off and wait like 5 minutes and then it starts to work again...anybody know what it could be?

thanx

Sounds to me like you are a little low on Freon. Small can from an auto parts store would do fine for you. it is not hard if you get the one with a gauge with it... just fill till the upper part of the green and do not go into the red zone. It'll work all good again.

Sounds like one of your lines are icing up, had a similar situation with suzuki van. When I checked, the line was iced up then I would turn off AC. Once the ice melted from the heat, AC would be good again.

It's possible the condenser is icing up after long use. Are you blasting it at full speed for 30-40 min? There also might be a clog in the drain line.

This would be my thought as well. The AC ECU detects the pressure of the freon and if it is too high or too low it will shut down the compressor to avoid damaging it.
