Is there anyway of telling if it has wiring for fog lights? And is there any way I could get it done cheaper? The dealership wants 1,100$ to get foglights in and thats if it has wiring how bad am I getting fucked? help please, thanks.

When I had my other yaris sedan, I bought a set of fogs from somebody here on the forums for about $80 (including shipping from Japan) and a local shop installed them here for $60...total= $140.
Yeah, you might be getting ripped off. |

I went the "OEM-look" route and it cost about...
$89 Foglight Kit from MicroImage $121 OEM Toyota headlight stalk $54 OEM Foglight shrouds (now come with MicroImage kit) ---- $264 If you feel comfy doing it yourself, it's much cheaper! My Toyota dealer priced getting it done at the dealership at about $750. I'm no expert on sedans, but I think that they are all pre-wired for foglights... maybe CTScott knows?

Pre-wired in this case means that there the appropriate connections from the engine bay to the cabin so you don't have to run wires through the firewall. Like so: Fog lights > wired into engine-side box > pre-wired through firewall > wired to switch of your choice. You do the italicized stuff and the bold stuff is already done by Toyota. (Again, I'm no expert on sedans, wiring, or all things Yaris, so, if need be someone correct me if I'm wrong. )

The guy told me it would be wired to something I'm guessiing the interior lighting switch.
1,056.78$ was my quotes total and said I needed to be checked for the wiring if there is wiring then it would be 750 dollars with everything. So I pop off the plastic and look for something? I was also thinking of ebaying a set of fogs or something then just paying them to install it, won't void any warranty will it?

They probably want to connect it so that it will be tied in with your nighttime driving lights.

Got mine for $89 from Garm. Getting installed on the 30th by a shop for $100. $189.00...done. Mine will be wired to the park lights, as I wished. I have all the wiring and switch to put on the console between the seats, but that is extremely inconvenient for me, as they WOULD get left on...no doubt. Having them come on with the park lights is perfect, because I am reminded to turn those off.

Buy the kit from garm. Take off bumper. Install fogs. Run wire into engine fusecompartment. Plug in relay into drivers side fusebox inside cabin. Tap two wires together at ignition stalk. Done.
For locations of engine wiring and inside relay there are directions with the kit. For the 2 wire tap ctscott knows which two. This will allow fogs to come on with parkers. |

Yeah, ummm, telling someone "fuck you" is a lot different from just using it in a sentence and unrelated to telling someone off.

The reason I'm having mine done is I am not comfortable removing the bumper. Besides, I'm having 3 dings taken out while it's in the shop, and am just getting the fogs installed at the same time. I have the Dr. Evil Mentality about lots of things. I will just take the car in and assume that everything will go according to plan!
One less hassle for me.
