Yaris computer software upgrade?

I was sitting here running some updates on my home computer when a question popped into my mind: Does the Yaris ever get any type of computer software updates or upgrades? To my knowledge, nothing has been updated thus far. Do the Toyota technicians at the dealership perform these updates/upgrades automatically and just not bother to tell the owners? Anybody know?

As it's no VW/Audi Diesel: I don't see the necessity for any updates :D
In fact, automotive software is developed up to far higher standards than what you run on your PC, so there are almost (iirc there was one for the XP9s EMPS and one for the Prius' brake systen) never any updates deemed unavoidable (!) by the manufacturer.
Of course there are often some errors left, but if they are not harmful, they rather won't be fixed.

The only Yaris update was one for the ECM for 2007 Yaris, which fixed an over sensitivity to the crank sensor.

To your knowledge, is that something that would have been done by the service tech during regular maintenance, or is it something owners would have to request?

I'm assuming it's just done during regular maintenance, but you never know with these stealerships.

There has also been updates to the diesel Engine software because of problems related to the regeneration of the dpf.

It is only done if the car exhibits the behavior. I have done a couple of them for people who have boosted their 2007 and had issues where the issue appears with an AEM FIC connected.

What are the symptoms of the behavior i.e. over sensitivity to the crank sensor?
