Bangkok International Motorshow 2007
Through lies, subterfuge and deceit a couple of friends and I managed to get VIP passes to the first day of the motorshow
Now I must apologize in advance, my proper camera's charger screwed up somehow last night and I had no battery, so I had to use my phone camera and the pics are less than stellar. I will probably go again in the next few days, there's a lot of stuff I missed, including a very promising Accessories Hall... But without further delay, here are a couple of general shots: I'll cut straight to the chase and post pics from the Toyota booth first, the highlight being the unveiling of the top trim level of the new Vios (aka Yaris Sedan), with all the bells and whistles. Notice the leather seats as well as the dark grey trim of the center console. Very nice! There were also two lonely little Yarii in a corner, but each one with some interesting additions: I'll have more info and stuff about those trim pieces in another thread The red one had a stock exterior but some custom upholstery: Here's also a Hybrid concept car, looks like an evolution of the Prius: Apart from that, there was nothing really special about the show, just each brand showing off what cars are available, hoping to attract buyers... A couple of race/rally cars cars, a couple of concept cars... I just took pics of whatever I found to be of actual interest. WRC Ford Focus fitted with a Playstation 2, steering wheel and screen... Unfortunately the guy in charge was not there and I did not get to take it for a spin Mitsubishi sells this Lancer as a special RalliArt package with Brembo brakes, OZ (I think) rims and Recaro seats. Not bad! "Battle Damage" Mitsubishi Triton Off-Road truck. Ouch! Also note that weird Ford concept van in the back... Let's go check out our rivals Honda... Classic racer... Modern racer... Honda's One Make Race version Jazz (the name that the Fit is sold as here) Isuzu pimping out their trucks and SUVs... Street style Rugged style The real deal... What about ultimate driving machines? Hard to beat this 3.2L, 343hp BMW Z4 M Coupe, that's for sure! Lovely BMW bikes and ladies... I have an unexplicable attraction to this kind of Volvo... Anyway, that's about it! Hope you enjoyed it!

The wheels on the light blue Yaris are the same limited edition ones TRD Thailand fitted to the original Vios Turbo - did you get a peek under to hood?
Nice pics! |

Is that a Hybrid Synergy Drive badge on the hatch?
edit- Guess not, but looks close.. The tails look like the new Acura TL-S tails, and the smoked section reminds me of the previous gen Jettas/Golfs. Love it. |

Oh, I see what you mean, that's just the badge of the trim level, we have E (economic), G (gorgeous) and S (Superior or Superb, can't remember). Hey, I didn't make this up, it's Toyota's marketing....
