Cool Night Rider Yaris version 1.0

My Led scanner lights just came in by Canada Post this morning and I installed it it my baby. Here is only some shots taken inside my garage and the Indash Yaris GPS Nav from my last post, its got green buttons and the screen can change from blue/red/green background. Ha ha ha so much fun!!! later gonna go for a car wash and let the LED's run while in the car wash with open windows. Wonder if iy turns head when driving down a dark alley or just let it run whist waiting for a green light?

Well it aint worhtless to me and I haven't seen anyone achieve it on their Yaris...anywhere. There is always a first for everyone. It may seem strange, pointless, waste of time to someone and it may also seem fun, exciting and interesting for others. There are 3 things I wanted when I was a kid and I have only achieved 1 out of three.

1) to own all the computers and game consoles before the early 90', in which I have done so
2) to drive a or make something light a Night RIder Car or something cool, which is this part
3) to buy myself a Delorean and dress it up like BTTF minus the interior part, I have my eyes balled on two : one in Downtown Yonge/Eglinton and another one in Newmaret but need Major attention; apparently in someone's backward and bolted to the ground.

Illegal yes I agree but only if its strobe flashing and impersonating a law enforcer/rescue vehicle.
I just had to get some kicks right after the installation. I should have gotten a white or green cos my indash has green buttons and would look sick after I install Green Neon angel eyes or LED eyebrowns like the BMW/Volkwagon/Mercedes...
Its now set to kick in when I hit the brakes. I have a wireless remote which I can switch on or off, of course its mostly on while I'm not on major roads and in traffic. There is strobe mod like a police car but Its too bold to turn on. Next mod is a fog horn or something which has a built-in mic. The LED's are quite bright even during daytime so image what you see at night. Pics and videos will be posted on Friday.

Still cool, but it would be illegal in Texas as well. I had some Christmas lights on the front of my Jeep that I could only keep on if not flashing. Even then some anal cop could write me a ticket as a few of the bulbs were red (red and blue are illegal if can be seen from the front of the vehicle, but the red ones on the sides were OK).

But parked it would really draw a lot of attention! I used to turn the Christmas lights to flashing when I parked the Jeep as they were really festive and folks loved it!

Hi Alan...

Excerpts from the Ontario Highway Safety Act:

Intermittent red light restricted
(14) Subject to subsections (14.1) and (15), no person shall use a lamp, other than the vehicular hazard warning signal lamps commonly known as four way flashers, that produces intermittent flashes of red light. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 62 (14); 2007, c. 13, s. 17 (1).

Red and blue lights to the front restricted
(14.1) In addition to the lighting requirements in this Part, a police department vehicle may carry lamps that cast red and blue lights, but no other motor vehicle shall carry any lamp that casts red and blue lights to the front. 2007, c. 13, s. 17 (2).

Red light in front
(15)
In addition to the lighting requirements in this Part, a vehicle described in subsection (15.1) may carry lamps that cast a red light only or such other colour of light that may, with the approval of the ministry, be designated by a by-law of the municipality in which the vehicle is operated, but no other motor vehicle shall carry any lamp that casts a red light to the front. 1998, c. 35, s. 103.

Penalty
(33)
Every person who contravenes subsection (1), (6), (7), (9), (10), (11), (13), (14), (14.1), (15), (16.1), (22), (24), (25), (26), (29), (31) or (32) or who contravenes a regulation made under subsection (21) is guilty of an offence and, if the offence was committed by means of a commercial motor vehicle within the meaning of subsection 16 (1), on conviction is liable to a fine of not less than $200 and not more than $20,000. 1996, c. 20, s. 13; 2007, c. 13, s. 17 (9).

I can't find a section that relates to personal vehicles, but it's probably at least the same... a $200 fine if you get caught on the road with that. You should really only use it when parked on a private property.
