New Yaris
Hello everyone, I am a new owner of a 2010 2dr with a 5spd. I am liking the car so far. It's great for getting me to and from work.
The car has 68,000mi. Is there anything you would recommend changing/doing? Brake fluid, PS fluid, etc? Also, I realized that my antenna is broken. Is there a good website that sells OEM Toyota parts, or even a decent aftermarket antenna? Has anyone replaced their antenna before? How hard is it? I'm assuming you have to remove the headliner and unscrew it from under there. |

If you want an aftermarket antenna, try to find an antenna off of an S2000. Replacing an antenna difficulty: if you can replace a lightbulb, you can replace the antenna.
You literally unscrew it off. For that mileage I'd look at getting the tranny fluid changed, and the brakes flushed. |

I would check the serpentine belt for cracks, and I would install/replace the cabin filter.
I would check on ebay for an OEM replacement antenna. I believe most of the Toyota antennas will fit, and some antennas from other makes will fit as well (Betrivent). |

Is the antenna broken off? If so it might be tricky to get it out. Would need pliers to unscrew it out.

I bought the car at night, so didn't catch it. If I had, I would have made the dealer replace it before I bought the car. Anywho... I'll be getting the tint done soon. I'm also going to throw some better wheels on there. I'll save those steel wheels for snow tires. |

THat's going to require more than just getting a new antenna, you need the whole assembly. Got pictures of it?

Here's what the antenna base looks like. I'm 99% sure it will need to be replaced.

Another quick question.
My car was bought from a dealer. There was an oil change sticker in the window, leading me to believe that they changed the oil. However, when I changed the oil today, I noticed that there was a Microgard brand filter. This is not something a Toyota dealer would install, correct? |

It varies, I wouldn't say it's out of the realm of possibility that they would use an aftermarket filter to save money.

Something else I realized. I do not see a power steering reservoir. This car has electronically assisted power steering, correct?
