Help with this braking problem.

When I brake going down a hill near my home the car feels like it downshift, it slows the car down so much that I have to accelerate to get the car to shift back to OD. I hate it, make me so mad some times that I floor board it to get going again. Is there a way to avoid this idiotic function?

Yes it is downshifting. Mine is the same way.
If the cold indicator is On it will not even go into top gear and shifts at different points until the transmission is warmed up.

Does the same thing on my Civic. If you did not want it to slow down.. why would you be braking on the downhill anyways?

Maintaining speed though a zone maybe? I have a hill in town that is a favourite speed trap for law enforcement. They sit at the bottom of a 50 kph hill, which if you coast down, by the time you hit the bottom you're doing 70 kph.

The car does downshift has soon as you tap the brake, but I do not find that I have to 'floor' it to upshift again.

I never found it could be slowing down so much that you have to accelerate again on a downhill..
just let go the brake if it slows down too much.

It shouldn't downshift too much if you don't reach certain speed. I mean, it won't downshift the moment you step on the brake if you were doing 70kmh downhill. Probably does like around 50kmh and at that point, you probably want to let go the brake and let the engine do its thing.
