2012 Yaris, anyone else have high insurance?
Has anyone else had expensive insurance quotes for these cars?
I'm 25, traffic ticket at 21 for 9 over. I tend to get a more premium insurance plan, I'm getting $1,700 -$2,000 a year insurance quotes from Progressive, Geico, Allstate, Donegal. When I was 17 I had two tickets(one as 80 in a 25) in a couple months, paid only $800 a year for almost the same coverage. At 19 I bought a new Focus, had $900 a year same coverage as this Yaris while getting a speeding tickets and never had an increase. I'm just curious, makes no damn sense. Listed as one of the cheapest cars to insure by many websites, I'm quarter century old, good safety ratings, no recent tickets and I'm getting quotes similar to a 17 year old in a WRX STI. |

I did a u-turn on a downtown street today and somebody tried to follow me in a chevy 2500 with a long bed. They didn't quite understand why it didn't work out so well for them.

For my 2007, with full coverage: $27 per month.
1) Drive legally, and fewer miles. 2) Clean up your credit report. 3) Get and stay married (tell your insurance company). 4) Raise your deductible. 5) Garage your vehicle. 6) Get an alarm system if it doesn't have one. 7) Take a defensive driving course. 8) Move to a low crime region. 9) Get old. |

34/yo male, married, with clean driving history. I pay $42/month for full coverage of my 2012 Yaris (I'm on a joint policy with with my wife's Honda Fit). I live in the Upper Midwest (non-metro area), so the rates here are probably much lower than larger metro areas.

I pay about $80 a month for full coverage. I have a 2007 though. I don't really know what to say .. but just drive like a sane person and don't hit anything.
I think that a lot of it is where you are living .. I know that big cities are very prone to produce high insurance rates. |

It costs $3,093 to insure me on the Yaris (full coverage).
I'm 18, male, one accident (not at fault according to the police report), no tickets *knocks on wood*, and have lots of discounts (multi-car, multi-policy, good student, anti-theft, airbag, verified mileage). Before you say its my age or gender, I'm also insured on a 2009 Mercedes Benz C300 and that only costs around $1,800. |

Costs about $80 a month - full coverage, at 50/100, w/ towing - on the wife's 2013 paired with my Celica on the policy. I'm 28, no points or accidents/tickets.

I just got my renewal (effective 9-4-13) in the mail today. Last year my renewal = 1 month before my 1 point came off. With this new renewal my already inexpensive insurance decreased about 14 percent to $34.30 per month (3 applied discounts -- Multiple Policy (Homeowners), Verified Mileage, and Longevity/Renewal). However, when I got my Homeowner's Policy renewal last month, the rate had increased about 10% .
