Thanks all! I drive an '07 stickshift hatch back Yaris. Problems: 1.The engine idles so quietly and smoothly that I cannot hear it, especially with the radio on. 2. Toyota electronically idles the car at around 450 RPM to save gas...
These problems cause me to occasionally over-rev when starting out in first gear, or kill the engine! I've driven stick for 50 years, have several stick shift vehicles, but when you have no tach, a silent engine and a very low factory set idle, an aftermarket tach is a requirment!!
