New Nordfrost 5's installed on the front - had them on the rear from last year already.
Can't wait to get into some deep snow with them :D

If we are lucky it will only be -28 C. They are predicting the temps to drop starting tonight. We almost never get below -40C (-40F) with wind chills, unless you are at the airport. They get much colder than in the city where -40 + C has been reached.

Nope ... windchill is extra. I hope we don't get much of that. Usually we don't get that much as far as wind compared to the southern part of the province.

From Wikipedia: The lowest temperature ever recorded at City Centre Airport (Downtown Edmonton) was −40.6 °C (−41.1 °F) on January 26, 1972. While the The Edmonton International Airport saw a record low of -46.1 C (-51F) and -58.4 C (-73 F) with the windchill, outfreezing even the Arctic. This was recorded in 2009. I am just happy I don't work there .. as I know the ramp agents there regularly freeze their butts off.

I don't even plug my car in until we near -30C (-22F) , so maybe Christmas Eve Eve night I will plug my car in just in case. Family get together on Christmas Eve.

FYI .. I use the following website for my temp conversions, so I know it is accurate. http://www.calculateme.com/cTemperature/index.htm I also use
this same site for my MPG conversions for those that use US MPG, compared to L/100 KM on my ScanGauge.

Ottawa is supposed to get a major dump .. hope not but really we are Canadians and this is pretty normal for us. Here in Edmonton .. no snow in the forecast that I know of.

Thank you, winter tires are Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3 - 205/50R15 (supre quiet and awesome performace) up to 39-40 MPG in winter after the math due to tire size is smaller in diameter.

This are the General Exclaim when new! my Summer Tire 195/50/16 (nice tire very smooth and good grip) up to 42-44 MPG in summer

And after 55,000 miles on the General Exclaim!

Nice tires . Can't use studs . Leave the paved driveway marred . Did use the Cooper Weather Master ST-2s' with studs before getting the drive done . Miss the studs on ice . Could get over 38 m.p.g. with the ST-2s' . Few years ago I pulled all the studs out of all 4 of the ST-2s' with pliers and a small flat screwdriver . Took over 4 hours . They still did well in the snow for 1 season .

The snow finally stopped. The Corolla felt like driving a tank with all the snow on it.

Done. It annoys me that imgur will recompress but not resize automatically.

Here are mine....Firestone WinterForce in a 185/60/15, mounted on 2 stock steelies. Less than 100 miles on them and are in new condition. $250 invested....and I'm letting them go for a mere $100. *Shamless sales plug over*

Finally just swapped mine over, as we are supposed to see some snow on xmas day. I am running Viking Snow Techs (made by Continental).

And, for real snow, Crashy runs Maxxis Bighorns. If they didn't rub without Crashy's liftkit, they would be a hoot to run on the road on one of the other two Yaris.

Those Bighorns look like a larger version of the tires on the snowblower .

if i have the choice i will only ever run studs. these dont mark up painted concrete they are impressive, unless you spin or dry steer. and you cant hear the studs. so far the only company i know to engineer and pre stud them.
i also sell the coopers there not bad at all.

you need some wheels with exxtreme offset, give smashy more stance! or mount the steels on backwards
