Hey all, I ended up finding super cheap stock 15x5.5" alloy wheels from the ZR model (i'm in Australia) which I painted black. Also I'm not sure what they ZR models are called in other places but basically the top model.

Now I'm not sure what tyre size to get. Someone suggested 185/55/15. Stock for these wheels are 175/65 but I'm not sure what to get. I just don't want anything to make the car feel sluggish.

Any suggestions?

Hey guys
Does this offset guide apply to all model hatch back NCP10 to NCP130?

Looking at 15x7 TE37sl in staggered offsets
+34 front & +24 rear

I am just getting into autocross and getting close to replacing my old tires with something slightly better but still an All Season tire for now. Wish there were more options in All Season 15s. Right now looking at Kumho Ecsta PA31 195/55/15.
I think 195 should be the max width I could run on stock rims? Anyone run 195/55/15s on the stock 15X5.5 rims?

I ran 195s and 205s on the stock rims (alloys) without issue, though I didn't drive really hard in corners and such. No issues, but I suspect the 195s would be better than the 205s for autocross. I bet the 185s would be even better than the 195s.

I run 205/50/15 on stock alloy rims and tein stech springs. Other than the tire guys complaining they were hard to get the beads seated, all is good

Max width on 15’s before needing to modify?

Hey all, I intend on doing some autocross in my 2012 Yaris. Next big purchase is rims/tires. What is the max width I can get away with on a set of 15’s before I have to start modifying to avoid rubbing?

Hi all

New member from Australia looking to purchase a 3dr hatch as a daily driver. Will be keen to apply a few basic handling/suspension mods. I'll want to lower it modestly, perhaps an inch or so. I've trawled the wheel threads for some great inspiration.

Looking at:

ROTA GRID 16x7 +40
ROTA SLIPSTREAM 16x7 +38

With modest (1-2") lowering and sensible/standard diameter rubber would I run into rubbing issues with either of these? I note the +40 would be closer to OE offset. Any advice much appreciated!

Assuming you'll be using a 205 tyre. You shouldn't rub with either a +38 or +40

Yup - looks like 205/45 would be the ideal on a 16x7

At that size, 60kph would be showing as 58.3 on the speedo.

205/50 would read 60.3 on the speedo when doing 60kph.

Interesting thanks - that is better. I'd seen 205/45 mentioned often.

Sorry, my bad before. For 205/45, when the speedo reads 60, you'll be doing 58.3. Apologies.

Being slightly 'under' is not a bad thing....

Looking at a few cars running 205 50 though, and it does look 'right'.

I run 205/45/16 on 16x7 wheels with no issue. offset is +42mm if I remember right. 1.5" drop.

I can't say with certainty, but your speedo will likely still over read even with 205/50 16. Every Toyota I've owned has over read. My Yaris running 195/50 16 reads 60kph when in fact my 20hz gps module hooked up to my phone reads 53-54. And it's nearly 10kph out when I hit 110 :).

I'm more than happy with the speedo reading a little on the safe side. At an indicated 110, my Forester is doing an actual 102 ish. I know that setting the cruise between 105/110 is safe as houses.
