Advice on Insurance

Hi Guys,

Could someone give me any idea about the third party and comprehensive insurance?

How much it will cost for my love yaris?

Which company should I go for better price?

Thanks, all.

without googling it, where would that be? VA, TN, CA ????? Rates depend on area too, among other things. What is your record like etc. That's why I'm asking.

Lolz KCalb, this is in Australia.
Compare the qoutes from different places like NRMA, AAMI, GIO, etc...

I am with AAMI and I pay 780 for the comprehensive insurance. It is way less than the 2700 my mate pays for his ford cougar.

Thanks, Jinxor.

I got a quote via AAMI website with a price of $942 (excess is $500).

Just wondering how did you get the price as low as 780?

It depends on the age, where you live, etc.
I live in westmead in sydney. They also take the factors like previous records like any demerit points or accident claims.
The No Claim Bonus also makes a difference in the price.

What I did was to give aami a call and ask for a competitive price.

Dont go third party, that will only cover the other person...

Go comprehensive...ummmm if you are a good driver and u havnt had any crashes yet, go with just car insurance.
They have to option to make the monthly repayments low and pay higher excess, or high monthly repayments and have low excess.

Theres also, GIO, AAMI, NRMA, some new one i saw on tv but forgot the name....

If you can/its financially viable, try and see if you can get your Yaris insured with the same company your house/contents etc is insured with. You tend to get a discount this way.

My comprehensive insurance with AAMI was $774 this year. As a 19yo rating 3 driver with no claims/accidents/driving infringements and a $500 excess, I'm very happy with that!

If you're younger and are looking at going with the same company as your parents, make sure you mention that they hold their insurance with that company. That's how I've managed to be a rating 3 after only 2 years of insurance, as well as a $200 discount the first year I insured my Yaris.

In respect to 3rd party insurance, I know that in NSW the majority of insurers are roughly the same, around the $480.00 mark for me. The price for that just seems to keep going up and up.. Not sure about SA though.

Hope this helps! =)

Gosh.. When I was 17 and first got my Yaris new I still didn't break the $1k mark for my comprehensive! But then again, I'm also out in regional AU, so 'idealistically' that would mean less theft/break-ins/potential damage from morons (but then again, anyone out here over the age of 40 doesn't understand the concept of a round about..!) .. Plus, my parents' cars got kicked out of the double garage for my Yaris.

But seriously, $1000 for a 21 year old guy in Sydney is awesome for insurance I think! Could you do the 'advanced driver' course they offer? Apparently they hack a bit off the premium?
