Lets talk wheels
Sadly I think wheels and springs will be the first thing I do to my Yaris, I mean the car already has a peppy engine so I think some moderately wide rims and nice tires and a stiff suspension will do wonders for the car. What rims would everybody put on their Yaris? I am thinking something like 17x8 forged for lightweight and a 5 spoke to let more air in the cool the brakes. All these plans and I have to wait till april to set them free

I hear ya, I've been waiting anxiously too but we only gotta wait another 2-3 months. It'll be here before you know it :) Wonder when these will first show up in the showroom.
I think 17's would look great on the car, just hope they're not too heavy. If you got something like Volks LE37's those things would be ridiculously light and 5 spoke like you want. |

I went with 5 spoke Eagles, 15x7 with Toyo Proxes T1-S 195/50 which give a smaller overall diameter which equals lower gearing which equals More Power!

I was looking at Volks as well since they are prolly the lightest.
But I also really liked these wheels from work. They are also supose to be on the light side. Just not sure what size I'd go. I want smaller for weight, but I don't want it to look horrid. |

I just bolted on a set of 17 " light weight 5 spoke gunmetal grey with a polished lip Racing Heart STR with NEXON 205/45/17zr rubber. What a difference wheels and tires make alone.

Can some one confirm that the wheels on the yaris are 4/100, because i'm buying some 18 x 7.5, and they only come in 4/100, so i wanna make sure they fit. Thanks.

Today i tested my summer mags & Tires from my old car, i was suprised to see that they fit. The mags are 14" and are 14*6 and the tires was a 205/60/14. I had no problems of touching anywhere. With the wheel turned to it max the most narrow point is about 1 inch & 2/8. Just incase anyone wanted to try this size. it does fit no problems. But it does take away some engine power if you do a quick take off. But other wise i couldn't really tell the difference. I'll put them on at the end of march to see when i make my first long distance trip with the car and see what results i get.

If u want really lightweight go with either Volk or OZ, great rims but pricey :)
But with 106hp why r u guys wanna go with expensive and lightweight rims ? It's not like u have a mid-fast car. U'r gonna b on the bottom of racecars anyway. Better save some money, and work on the engine, so at least it won't sound ridiculous when u brag u have $$$ rims, and then mention the 106hp :)

The lighter the wheels the more power gets to the ground. The lighter the wheels the better gas mileage you get. I am sure you have heard that unsprung mass impacts car dynamics much more than sprung mass.
Weight is the enemy. |
