VVT-i engagement???
anyone here know when our variable valve timing kicks in. im curious as to what rpm/load point it engages the shift. any spec sheets etc. im still breaking my car in so i havnt hit the high rpms yet. thanks

yup, it's a continuously variable system. You might be confusing it with VVTL-i, which has a definite engagement point. Confusing stuff, but not as much as Honda which lumps it all under the name VTEC

Yeah, standard VVT has a specific activation point. With VVT-i, the "i" stands for "intelligent", which means it keeps the valves timed properly throughout the entire rpm range.

Some good reading for the technically-minded...
VVT-i / VVTL-i VTEC As you can see, Honda has the bad habit of clumping everything they do to valves under the VTEC/i-VTEC banner, while Toyota has four distinct systems, the discontinued VVT, the economy-oriented VVT-i, the more advanced Dual VVT-i, and the performance oriented VVTL-i.
