Stock Shifter Shafts
I'm looking to obtain about 3 or 4 stock Yaris shifter shafts..... I know some of you out there who have changed to a short shifter have them laying around.
They look like this: I've talked with my good friend Dr. Isotope who makes custom GearSwitcher packages for Scion tC's and he's looking to do the same for the Yaris. He has already made cage bushings, shifter cable bushings, shorter throw and a taller leverage shifter (opposite idea of short shifter) already for my g/f's Yaris. He just needs stock shifter shafts so that he can start a turnaround for other Yaris owners who are interested in either a short or leverage shifter. Here are the packages he offers for the tC: http://www.doctorisotope.com/gearswitchers I'm not looking to pay much..... mostly shipping costs plus few bucks. I'm doing this for the Yaris community, not my own benefit. Let me know. (Also, mods please move if i'm in the wrong section. Thanks) |

I haven't swapped my shifter shaft but I would buy this when/if he figures things out. If he wants or needs a prototype car I live near Glendora.
I've been looking at the TWM and NST short shifters but both don't reduce throw 50% while keeping the Shaft stock height or higher without adding all these separate bits. A singular unit like this would be awesome. |

I went down to Dr. Isotope yesterday and got my short shifter installed. Not only was he entertaining but he does damn good work. All the replacement bushings (cable and cage) are Delrin so they won't corrode and are super stiff. On top of that he uses the stock shifter shaft which are made of metal and finishes it off with in nice anodized black. The shifter shaft is not aluminum.
Shifter throw is now super short and very solid. I think I may go down to a 2 inch extension rather than 4 inch because I feel like a trucker. The throw is shorter than other companies using less parts and much cheaper ($120). |

It depends, the shifter shaft can be made to any height you want (higher or lower). Just email him, his email address is on the site.
