So, here's the before and after of my filter.... Before from November 2005, after now changed March 2010 - I was amazed how dirty they get!!!
And at $16 mail order instead of the $50 the stealership wanted its a bargain!!! |

$50 at a dealership? I'm just gonna assume that's about $25USD (what I pay at the dealership)

...I really enjoy the HEPA filter I use. $25 and I get at least 6...it's been a while. I change mine out every other oil change.

I just changed mine after 7,000 miles and it looks just like your dirty filter. I get mine at O'Reilly Auto Parts for $8. |

There are a few cheap options: 87139-YZZ08, 87139-02020 (looks better than YZZ08).
The carbon version 08974-00820 is the most expensive. |

When installing this part, don't forget to twist the air filter when putting it in. Otherwise it will fold.

100 bucks for the cabin filter? Really? Even Mr. Lube sells it cheaper than that, along with all the other warranty services like ATF flush and coolant flush.

I better check mine at the next oil change... don't want something looking that dirty in my car.
And $100 to change a cabin air filter... WOW...i wouldn't pay that if they were gonna check it every month for the rest of my life... just dumb.

Nemelek,
At least your stealership has the cabin airfilter to offer. my car didn't come with one and my dealership doesn't have them. But they offer a full AC cleanup for 75$ and they may cut an airfilter to fit in (from a camry one) but I will also have to pay for that. they recommend to do the full AC cleanup at the beggining of each summer. Now that is a rip off !! |
