metal cowl piece- paint or undercoat?
I'm getting my TRD struts and springs put on by the alignment shop and to save a half hour labor I pulled the windshield wipers, plastic cowl, and metal cowl off so he could get to the strut towers quicker.
now that the metal cowl is off, I'm wondering : Should I paint or undercoat or leave it alone? my car is one of those sparkly black ones. was thinking that rustoelum hammered metal would be different but not too obtrusive.. has anybody undercoated it? did it help? is there a good reason to leave it alone? |

I never had to remove all that stuff when i changed my struts. You should be able to leave the wiper and cowl on. Just use a long handle wrench to reach the top of the strut bolts.

Mine was flat black....you can't see it when the plastic is installed so I'd just leave it be.
