Cool The Official "Bambo the Yarisworld Traveler" thread (V2)

***************
IMPORTANT UPDATE
***************

The original creator of the Bambo concept was a YarisWorld member by the name of NemesisZ. NemesisZ became unreachable after the hack so I volunteered to take over running this thread as I Bambo at the time of the hack. For reasons I'm not going to go into I'm standing down from running the "Bambo the Yarisworld Traveler" Thread and call on NemesisZ to come back and run his own thread.

As we are all well aware, YarisWorld was hacked and many threads, posts and members accounts have been lost. One of our favourite threads was the "Sticky: Bambo the YarisWorld Traveller" thread.

We'll I’ve restarted this thread because I have Bambo at the moment. I can tell you he was real unhappy, he was brought to tears that YarisWorld had been hacked and the last known backup was a year old.

Here's Bambo is logging on....

The poor little blighter was very upset, he started sobbing and would not talk. I thought that he was depressed and homesick so I put him with some friends on the couch to watch some telly.

After a while, Bambo cheered up. His friends from home, Marvin the Martian, Elmo, Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Homer put him in good spirits. Bambo told me he was hungry so I fixed him up a burger and a Coke.

After his meal Bambo and I went for a trip to the Melbourne Docklands. Here's Bambo driving my Yaris. He was very excited to see the stereo controls on the steering wheel.

On the way to Melbourne Docklands I saw this sign and had to take a pic to post it. "First Leg Free"

Anyway we arrived at Melbourne Docklands and decided to take some snaps.

This is the Telstra Dome, It's a major sporting ground used mainly for AFL (Australian Rules Football) and the A League (National Soccer League). AFL is our most followed sport here in Australia, along with NRL (National Rugby League), A League Soccer and Cricket.

If you look closely you'll see my Yaris.

A part of the Telstra Dome is AFL headquarters. I propped Bambo under the sign and took some photos.

Just behind AFL house is an artist’s work titled "Cow in a tree". In the background you can see the marina and the Bolte Bridge.

After seeing that Bambo wanted to go see the water, boats and other buildings.

This is the NAB (National Australian Bank) Building.

Here's a nice boat.

Here's Bambo by the water. It was very windy so I had to be very careful as I really did not want to have to dive in to rescue him.

Here's some more pictures of boats.

Here's some more boats, in the background you can see new apartment blocks.

Melbourne Docklands is also the home of Channel 7 Television, It also is a part of Telstra Dome, which comes in handy as they broadcast AFL.

Bambo saw some palm trees and thought he was in California, in fact a lot of the palm trees in California are from Australia.

Melbourne is very much a public transport friendly city, we have many trains, trams and buses. Trams go down many main streets. In fact tram is the easiest way to get around. Bambo saw this tram coming and wanted us to get on.

So we got on the tram. Bambo saw this sign.

He then decided he should get a ticket as he did not have $167 to pay if he was to have a fine for travelling without a ticket. I had to help him with the buttons.

He then checked out a validator on the tram. This is what you put your ticket in to validate (activate) it.

Bambo then took a seat and enjoyed the ride.

He started to get restless so I helped him look out the window.

This is a picture of the Melbourne Observation Wheel. It is still under construction, when finished it will take 45 minutes to make one trip the whole way around. It will be a major tourist attraction. It is also in the vicinity of a place called Harbour town which is a Direct Factory Outlet (Discount Mall).

We then caught a tram to Southbank and took some more snaps. This is Crown. It's our Casino and Hotel.

This is the Eureka Tower, when measured either by the height of its roof, or by the height of its highest habitable floor, Eureka Tower is the tallest residential building in the world. It is also currently the building with the most floors available for residential occupancy in the world. The building stands 297.3 metres in height (around 300 m above sea level), with 91 storeys above ground plus one basement level. It is one of only six buildings in the world with 90 or more storeys but is merely the 43rd tallest building in the world. It has an awesome observation deck, but I was short on time.

Anyway, both Crown and the Eureka Tower are on Southbank, right next to the Yarra River. Here are a few pictures of the river.

This is a picture of the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, it hosts many events such as Sexpo and the Car Show.

Right on the river is the Melbourne Aquarium, also a must see.

You can go on a Yarra River Cruise.

This is Flinders Street Railway Station, our major Train transport hub. It's almost 5:30 Pm and most people have left work to cram onto a train to get home, look at the cues trying to get in. It's generally cheaper and faster on a train than driving in grid lock and having to pay near $20+ for parking all day in the city. In fact the ticket you buy gives you access to all train, tram and bus in Metropolitan Melbourne.

Here's some more snaps of Flinders Street Station.

This is Federation Square, also a great place to check out.

The tram system is great, most stops tell you how long you have to wait until the next tram.

Bambo and I hopped on the City Circle Tram to go back to my car.

Bambo was tired so we went back to my place.

Hope you all enjoyed his adventure today.
