Only Happy When it Rains

The 1zz is starting to sound like more trouble than it could possible be worth. What are the benefits of it exactly?
I have a k&n air intake, lightweight flywheel, aftermarket clutch, NST pulley set with 10% underdrive pulley, lightweight wheels and tires. My cold idle is high for my taste, but the warm idle is rock solid at 700 rpms.
