TPMS questions

Ok, have been reading up on TPMS valves and their estimated life expectency.

I have read anywhere from 5-7 years, up to 12 years, up to 100'000 miles etc. All over the place. However everything I have read has mentioned the life span is dictated by almost anything that has a battery, temperature, number of cycles (on/off) age etc.

My question(s) is/are these;

My Yari is an 09, made in 08 no doubt, running original stock tires and valves coming up on 46'000 miles. Living in S.E. New England. Tire tread will require me to get some new ones in the near future.

My plan is to run the stocks till November, get inspected, put the snows on shortly after as the weather dictates and get new three season tires in the spring.

(Snows are on steel wheels no TPMS valves, I live with the light for a few months. BTW-The stocks are in my garage, and when I park outside it, about 20 ft. the TPMS light goes off and will come back on after I have driven 10-12 miles)

Should I leave those TPMS valves on if they are still OK? Or while the tires are off the wheels put on some new, fresh valves? Anyone recommend any particular brand? I understand this is all subjective.

Has anyone here had to replace their TPMS valves because the battery finally went?

Thanks, cheers.

I would leave the original ones in. Based on the frequency that they transmit, I would expect the Toyota ones to last 8 to 10 years.
