We got our check for about $9 also. Will use that money towards the gas needed to drive the 73 miles roundtrip to the "recall" for the potentially faulty driver's seat. Sigh. That should leave us with about $3 for a taco or two. Sweet!

Also, As I understand it, Toyota did not even have have to legally admit fault.
While it does say that by signing the back of the check, you "hereby agree to the terms of the Release as stated in Section VI of the Settlement Agreement."

However, in the attached letter it states "the terms of the settlement apply to you whether you cash the enclosed check."

So there is no real reason not to cash in the $29.23 check!

My 2007 was part of the settlement by what the web site said.
Same amount for me too. Mobile smartphone deposit, it posted to my account the next day. Had a great dinner at a great BBQ joint here.

I just got a check for $29.xx. Thanks for the link to the full settlement; apparently it is for my 2004 IS300.

Is this an American only class-action lawsuit? Still waiting for someone outside of the US to report receipt of a cheque.

Probably because only in America can you get sued for lost resale value?

My $29 + check came sometime between 11-14-14 and 12-7-14. It was in the mail that I retrieved when I returned from NJ/NYC.

I'm not sure. Do you think there might be a difference between having "the terms of" a settlement apply to you and agreeing "to the terms of the Release...?" I ask, and had the same thought as the quote by red that you posted, but honestly I'm probably going to go deposit my $29.23 check soon.

I am by far not a lawyer, nor did I say at a Holiday Inn Express last night; but from my interpretation that statement means the lawsuit is settled and any further legal action cannot be pursued.

To be honest, I doubt anyone would be successful in further litigation in this matter as it is based on general slander towards this particular model of car.

Heck, if anything devalues the trade-in of my Yaris, it's the crappy Toyota paint!

Yeah, I drove my Ford Ranger on the same route longer than my yaris and never lost that much paint on the ranger. I should've got a bra for the yaris cause it has a bunch of white spots on the front now. Ever wax the insides of the door jams? The paint comes off on the rag...

All that aside, I don't ever plan to trade in this car. I plan to run it until it can't be anymore.

Yeah, the red ones are bad for paint-sticking-to-the-car-ness.

I was going to ask if the $65 figure was because they forgot about Crashy, or because you sold your red one. Then it occurred to me that Crashy probably doesn't 'count' in their database, as they are probably using registration data. Last summer I was discussing the recalls with a person at the dealer. I was concerned I might not get any notice because the state of delivery on my '07 factory sticker is CT, I purchased the car at their sister dealership in RI while I was living in CA, and then subsequently moved to TX...having no contact with Toyota USA corporate since purchasing the car. The person at the dealership said "Don't worry, Toyota will find you" . Given where Toyota USA sent that paperwork, I think they must be using registration data.

I am not sure what was for what. I have owned a total of 5, but three of the five have never been registered to me. I also owned the 92 Celica and 11 Tacoma.
