what i was thinking is putting an 8" subs on the rear deck. sound deaden it for less rattle.

rather than replacing the 6x9 with another 6x9, and an underseat subs, i'll replace that 6x9 with an 8" subs, and components infront.

what do you guys think?

I think you missed it when i said that is what i did back then.

You would play the sub from about 100 to 80hz down, so they play mid-bass.

Given some variables, as I see it, the only way you're going to get solid response out of 8" woofers in the back deck is if they're enclosed properly OR if you find some 8" speakers that do well in an IB/free air situation.

As Illusion was starting to mention, one simply doesn't throw in a larger speaker into a space and have perfect frequency response. If that were the case the. We would simply put large woofers in the rear deck and be done with it all. It just doesn't work like that though. There's more to this process than simply replacing speakers and having spectacular sound. There's more that needs to be done.

For simplicity's sake and less headache, I sincerely recommend using the stock mounting points and replacing the speaker with a higher quality version.

As someone who lived on modifying the Yaris, it may seems strange that I suggest that BUT, I'm not seeing any of the key indicators in this discussion from the OP that suggest that he wants to spend the time or the money to properly make a back deck of 8" woofers to replace a sub in such a manner that the end result will be worth the time and effort.

Can we replace our front speakers with a midbass speakers?
and then replace our rear speakers with a 3 way 6x9?

I'm talking about Yaris Sedan specs.

TIA!
Ok, I'll go back to basic questions...

Can we replace our front speakers with a midbass speakers? Yes,

and then replace our rear speakers with a 3 way 6x9? Yes,

Be aware that if you buy speakers with high WATTS rating your Head Unit won't make them play better than stock, all the opposite, you would need to use an amplifier or buy speakers with Low WATTS rating.

and again!

Deaden your doors! will make a huge difference even if you don't change your speakers!
make your doors a better speaker box!

Sorry for the miss.

Its better to have the following:

components front
6x9 3way rear? (as some say it will remove the soundstage from the front speakers, is this true?)
6x9 midbass

Then subs inside the trunk

What do guys think?

Without a Digital Sound Processor there is no sound-stage to start with.

Any speakers behind you will pull the stage to the rear, that is why we don't have speakers in the rear! only in FRONT of us. ("we" = pure SQ system)

6x9 speakers in the front door, I don't think so. Too much work.

Budget ?

Recommendations:
Deck
Equalizer
Amplifier
Front Components.

See how it sounds. In a Sedan you will not miss the rear speakers at first.

Do some sort of sound deadening to enhance midbass of front components.

Would really help if you gave a budget. But with inexperience i wouldn't go higher than a mid level system. Now you'll ask why. There's alot to learn. We could sit here and Preach for hours, but our ears are not all the same. We can coach you in the right direction but First Hand Experience and your perception of how the system sounds and how you feel about it will be all that matters at the end of the day.

Deaden doors, trunk and floor

-Components infront
-Better 6x9 speakers (not a 3way or 2way) just better speakers to replace the factory set
-Ported subs in the trunk

Budget wise, I am not going to purchase everything all at once, maybe 1speaker at a time

How about this?
